A Pink and Orange Soiree

I am absolutely obsessed with the pink and orange color combination. I even did a post on a pink and orange nursery that would be absolutely precious for my imaginary baby girl (that won't be coming anytime soon.)

Anyway, since I also won't be having any parties in the near future (unless some of my sweet friends decide to get hitched or knocked up...please?!?), I have just been daydreaming about a beautiful pink and orange soiree!

And I would definitely need this dress. The hostess needs to match the party, right?? right! :)

Maybe I need to have a fun little girls' dinner party in this color scheme this summer!

What is your favorite color combination this spring/summer??

Gallery Wall Changes

I am forever tweaking things in our apartment, and right now our gallery wall is seeing the most change! I splurged on a few of the prints and put other random things in the frames to serve as place holders until I a)saved money to buy some gorgeous art, and b)found something I absolutely loved.

 {how it started - lots of random stuff in frames}

 The big bamboo piece in the middle was my final project for my Drawing I class in college. It is my most favorite thing I have done, so I was proud to have it front and center in the gallery wall. Love how the bamboo ties in so nicely with the Chiang Mai pillows...so chinoiserie chic!

 {made a few changes - still have some more to make}

The butterfly print to the left of the bamboo was a fun find at Home Goods {my home away from home!} I have always loved botanical prints (and so does Mr. Science Man Joe), so I was super excited to find this {framed, matted, and all} for $24.99...score!

The neat flower print in the gold frame that is to the right of the bamboo was a special wedding shower gift from my parents. Both my parents and grandparents have a "flower of the month" print from the month of their weddings, and I have always admired them and wanted one of my own. My mom found this fabulous piece and surprised me with it. Not only is it for June, but it is also one of my favorite flowers - ranuculus! Definitely a print that will be cherished forever.

The gorgeous blue abstract watercolor on the bottom was done by the fabulous Sarah of Flourish Designs and Style and was bought from her fun little Etsy shop, Gallery Wall {how fitting, right??} If you are in the market for some beautiful, affordable, original art...you definitely need to check out her shop. All of her watercolors are so fun and definitely add so much to your space! I absolutely love this pretty pop of blue in our living room! Thanks so much Sarah! Sending you and your family lots of love and prayers from New York!

The pretty, pink flamingo print is from the Etsy shop eastwiching. I first saw and fell in love with these pretty flamingos in an issue of Southern Living (shown below.) The extremely talented Alison Fennel lives in the UK and paints the most beautiful watercolor paintings of animals. Our future child (and no, I'm not pregnant) will definitely have some of these in their nursery! She was so sweet to work with - along with the print, she sent a precious notecard with one of her watercolor elephants on it, and a code for 10% off for me to share with friends...if you are interested, use the code "star1" at checkout.

 Here is how the gallery wall looks today. Lots of pink, because well...I'm in the mood for pink, apparently! It's a good thing my husband doesn't give me crap about my decorating choices! :)

The fun love print at the top is an oldy but goody from Jen at MadeByGirl that I had hanging in my apartment in college. The two state prints {SC & PA} are two free printables from Jenna at Q.A. Design...How sweet is she to make these free to download??

I am loving being able to change out some of these prints when my mood changes, but I have also had a blast finding beautiful pieces that will be staying here for a long, long time!

Do you have a gallery wall? I would LOVE to see!

Happy Friday, everyone!
