My Best Friend's Wedding

My best friend Elizabeth got married this weekend and I can't believe it's all over! We have been planning our weddings together and it has been a blast! She married a wonderful guy and everything was absolutely perfect! They got married at The Citadel's Summerall Chapel in Charleston and it was such beautiful ceremony! The chapel is so pretty! Their reception was at The Citadel Beach House on the Isle of Palms and that place was breathtaking! It was 80 degrees and sunny on Saturday and was the perfect day for a Charleston wedding! Here are a few pictures of their special day:

She was such a beautiful bride and I hope that her and Ben are enjoying their week in St. Lucia!

My mom and I hosted her Bridal Brunch on the day of the wedding in Charleston and everything turned out so pretty! We rented tables and chairs and did all of the decor ourselves. I was so proud of us! The pink flowers were my favorite part! We used some of the milk glass for my own wedding and some clear candle holders for the centerpieces. We served pimento cheese biscuits, an assortment of different quiches, mixed fruit, and lemon cake for dessert. Everything was so tasty! Everyone really enjoyed themselves and they were all so impressed by the beautiful location!

FINALLY!!!

The one thing that has been stressing me out the most with this wedding is FINALLY taken care of!! What do you think it is? Something important like my dress, or accessories, or maybe the food?? NO...the freaking tablecloths! I have spent the past YEAR trying to find the right color green linens to suit me. My mom was starting to get fed up with me being so picky over colors of green (some were too lime, some too light, some too pukey) so I finally had to make a decision. AHHH!! I hate making decisions!

From the beginning, I have wanted the pop of green in our wedding to be a pear/apple green color. I got some swatches from the two sweet girls from CB Events (check them out!) and was so excited that they saw my vision! They found the perfect colors/fabrics for me and I couldn't be more thrilled!

I decided to use Pistachio Crinkle on the big tables under the tent at The Duncan Estate (picture this with those pretty gold chairs!!!):

Love, Love, Love. The color is PERFECTO! I also really love the texture! Gorgeous!

The beautiful ladies at CB Events steered me towards choosing two linen colors to break things up a little bit, so I chose Apple Green Lamour for all of the cocktail tables and my sweetheart table underneath the tent. 

This is showing up more like mint green but in real life it is a really pretty true apple green. Love the texture of this too!

I am so excited to have this finished! I really think it's going to tie everything all together! Can't wait to see how it looks on June 5!

The Church

The other day I decided to go to the church where our ceremony is and take some pictures with my fancy camera! It is so hard to plan the ceremony without having a picture of the sanctuary in front of me, so now I have plenty! 

Our ceremony is at Bethel United Methodist Church in downtown Spartanburg and is absolutely beautiful! I always knew that I wanted to get married in a traditional southern church and this is exactly what I wanted. My home church in Simpsonville is very contemporary so that made the decision to get married in Spartanburg much easier.

Empire State of Mind

I have some really big, exciting news!

This Sweet Carolina Bride is moving to the big city...New York City, that is!

For someone that has lived in a 30 mile radius in South Carolina my whole life and has never been north of Pennsylvania; this is a big deal! Joe and I decided that he is going to Pace for law school and we are both thrilled! He is excited to get back above the Mason Dixon line after being in SC for 4 years.

We are going up there at the end of March to apartment/job hunt and I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!! 

All About Monograms!

Anyone who who has ever met me knows that I have a small (okay it's actually very large) obsession with all things monogrammed. (I am even having a Monograms and Mimosa shower in a few weeks!) I would probably monogram my underwear if that was a possibility! Ha! When it came time to come up with a motif to use throughout the wedding, I just knew it had to be a monogram!

I know that you aren't technically supposed to use your new married monogram until the reception, so I created two monograms with the same font to use on many, many things for the wedding!

I am not very computer savvy, so I Googled "how to make a monogram," and found an easy way to make them on Power Point. I didn't need anything fancy so this worked great for me. I found the monogram font I wanted online, downloaded it, made the monogram, and saved it as a picture file. Very easy!

This is the two letter monogram that uses the first letters of our first names (Molly and Joe.)

I am using this monogram on the invitation, the cover of the ceremony program, and it was used on stickers that sealed our Save the Date envelopes. Here is a little sneak peak of my gorgeous invitations (I'll make a whole post about them once they go out in the mail in April):

I then made a traditional 3 letter monogram that will be used on everything else such as a painting that will hang inside The Duncan Estate, favor stickers, and thank you notes, etc. Here is that monogram:

There are a lot of blank walls in The Duncan Estate and walls with pictures that I would rather take down, so I decided to paint our monogram on a huge canvas that I could hang up at the reception (and am going to hang it in our bedroom afterwards.) Here it is!

I would love to use the monogram in other ways at the reception, so if anyone has any ideas...I would LOVE to hear them or see examples of things you did at your own wedding!

Flower Girls!

I have always known that I wanted a lot of little flower girls in my wedding, and I am so blessed to have such sweet little girls in my life that are going to be standing with us on our special day!

My niece, Isabella, Joe's little cousins, Abby and Addison, and my mom's friend's little girl, Caroline, are going to be our flower girls. We don't have any ring bearers so these precious girls are going to be doing double duty!

Over the years I have saved a lot of pictures of cute flower girl dresses. Here was some of my inspiration:

Did you notice their monogrammed sashes? After seeing these pictures, I knew that this was exactly what I wanted! I never realized how expensive flower girl dresses are and I didn't want the moms of my girls to have to pay a lot of money for a dress they would probably outgrow within a few months. My sister-in-law is an avid eBay shopper and found the perfect dress for only $11.99! I couldn't believe it was such a good price but was a little scared that the quality was going to be awful. My sister-in-law received the dress today and said it is so pretty! My niece Isabella wouldn't let her take it off of her and told her she wanted to go to the wedding "NOW!" Here is Isabella in the dress (the sash is going to be champagne with an ivory monogram):

Isn't she too cute?!?! (My other niece, Lainey Kate, is in the background looking sad. I think she's saying "Hey! Where's my pretty flower girl dress???")

I know all of our little girls are going to be beautiful and I can't wait to see how it all turns out!

Tall Centerpieces

We are going to be using the milkglass centerpieces on the cocktail tables and some bigger tables inside The Duncan Estate, but the big tables under the tent are in need of centerpieces with some height.



I bought some brances from www.save-on-crafts.com and am planning on making these super easy centerpieces for those tables:

I am going to use clear vases filled with green split peas at the bottom, water, the white branches, and white hydrangea. Can't wait to see how they turn out!
